34 Weeks

This past week, we decided on a daycare place.  This is such a relief - we were worried we wouldn't find anywhere we felt comfortable, or that we'd have to get a nanny, which would have been very expensive.

In other news, I bought the dress I'll wear for my maternity photos.

We also took a labor and delivery class.  It was 8 hours long!  We learned a lot, and I feel more comfortable knowing the details of how the process works.

I thought this was weird.  It doesn't hurt at all, but looks pretty spooky.

34 weeks on January 19!

Lynn joined me for our 34 week appointment.  My belly is supposed to be about 34 centimeters, but it's just 31.5.  This is just out of the "normal" range of 32-36 centimeters, so we got an impromptu ultrasound.

The ultrasound showed that Baby Wilson is 4 lbs, 9 oz, which is in the bottom 25% of weight for a 34 week baby.  The femur was just under 3 inches long, though she didn't tell us the height.  This report satisfied Dr. Osmun, so we were sent home without anything to do, change, or worry about.  She's just a little small, but healthy! Heart rate was 137 bpm.

I have now gained 31 lbs, so I've dropped some weight since my last appointment.  I blame a pretty serious case of nausea and vomiting that consumed by Friday night/Saturday morning, combined with not feeling well throughout the last few days.  Hopefully I get back on track soon.

  1. How wonderful that you decided on daycare. It is so important. :)

I remember having the exact same blood vessel thing in my eye when I was pregnant. Guess it's normal. Or, we're both equally weird. I think it's probably the latter. :)

It sounds like Salsa is continuing to do well, even though she gave you a little scare. They like to do that...and it only gets worse as they grow. I'm sure she's perfectly happy and healthy in there and will probably have quite a growth spurt.

    Hope you feel better soon!
