The 16th Month - June 2016

The Rolfsrud Wilson gang went to Boston!

Everyone loves a snuggle from Lynn before a scary flight!

Of course we visited Harvard.  Nova tried on a nifty Harvard hat, but it was a bit big.

The weather was beautiful!  We took a lot of long walks.  Being carried around by daddy is exhausting!  Nova needed a little drink of water - her first attempt at a drinking fountain!

We went to Boston for Julia's baby shower.  Happy Shower Julia!  Sorry Nova is struggling to get away from you! Ha...

Karyn shared her toys with Nova who was very appreciative.

Nova took the T in style.

Back at the airport, Nova is snuggling with a new friend, Butterfly.

Speaking of new friends, Nova is very fond of stuffed animals now.  She is constantly carrying, snuggling or talking to a cat, butterfly or monkey now.

Cat wants to play with you, Mommy!"

For her sweet sixteen (month) birthday, we took her to the Build-A-Bear workshop where she "chose" this monkey.  Being very creative parents, we named him George.

Nova is also very into climbing and swimming with other human friends!

"Yum, water from this bucket is refreshing."

A pool party with Daniel!

A slide party with Jack!

We've had all sorts of other adventures!
Getting lost in a forest!

Driving around town.

Climbing on flowers at the Bethesda Mall.

Costco time!

Adventures in fashion!

Phew!  So exhausting!

I forgot to post Nova's 15 month stats last month, so here they are!
She's 29.5 inches
She's 20 lbs and 3 oz
Her head circumference is 17.75.
All of the above is in the 50-60%.  Good growing, gorgeous girl!

On other fronts, here are my Nova updates:
She took a step off the stairs with no support- she didn't use her hands, knees or me for support.  Big girl.
In early June, I asked Nova what sound a cat makes, and she said, "May."  Now when I ask her the same question, she totally ignores me, just like a cat would.
I asked if she wanted a banana. She paused thoughtfully and then said, "yes" very distinctly. Then took a bite of the banana.
She called a stuffed monkey a me-me.
Nova is down to a single nap a day.  It usually lasts 2-3 hours, giving Lynn and I time for the following activities.  Guess who does what:
Train for a triathlon
Write blog posts
Referee a paper on electromagnetic wavelengths
