Nova has been in virtual kindergarten this fall, and it's been ok! It's Spanish Immersion and she's actually learning a lot of Spanish, despite the difficult medium through which her lessons are gleaned.
Lynx is enrolled in in-person preschool, but has only attended about half the time because of a variety of covid-inspired reasons. Sniffly nose, rainy day, a little too windy, he sleeps in a little late, etc. So many reasons. But, on Friday, Lynn installed a very effective air filter into his classroom. All microbes and viruses (including the most infamous one) is filtered out and killed every 5 minutes. But, on Saturday, Lynn woke up with a sore throat, cough, and difficulty breathing, so he took a COVID-19 test and AGAIN Lynx couldn't attend preschool! Ugh!
COVID-19 test was negative, so Lynx will be returning at the end of the week.
My hamstring continues to aggravate me, so I'm going to go to yet another PT soon. Other than that, I have my health!
Lynn continues to make magic at NASA, which everyone appreciates.
We've continued with their Spanish tutoring sessions at Cultural Languages Services this fall. While we wait for Nova's lesson to finish, Lynx built this "open pit mining truck" all by himself! He was so proud.
Our neighborhood friend, Ruby, is warming up to the kids.
Nova continues with her piano lessons, all virtual since March. She's still learning about "stepping" versus "skipping" the notes, so I though I'd put together this little exercise for her. Step one note away, skip over a note. She loved it for a full 2 minutes! haha!
Three kids in her class completed 12 levels of this online math game, DreamBox, and they got a "celebration" at class. Nova was determined to get a celebration. So she set to work over the weekend, and completed 12 levels by Monday! !!CELEBRCIONES!! She was (mostly) embarrassed!
With the coronavirus raging, we are prepping for a winter at home, which means we need warm clothes for LOTS of time in our backyard. Enter, Turtle Fur!
I am growing my hair out....but not ALL my hair! I got an undercut and I think it's incredibly cool!
Of course, if Nova is doing it, Lynx wants to, too. Here he is, after drawing his own clock. He closed his eyes on purpose, to be funny.
Every month, we receive a new KiwiCrate in the mail. Nova has been LOVING the projects!
What are all the cool kids doing during the pandemic? That's right - a drive-thru dinosaur experience.
DINOS!!
