Our trip to Minnesota

I took three trips to Minnesota this May. First, my grandma Terri passed away, so I went to attend her funeral and be with family. Then on May 25, Kris Storvick, one of my best friend's husbands, died unexpectedly. This was, and continued to be, so incredibly sad and difficult. I really wanted to be with Lynn and the kids for this trip, so we booked a flight as a family.  But....a little too soon: The funeral was then scheduled for the week after our trip.  So, after the family trip, I flew back to Minnesota, one more time, to attend his visitation and funeral.

During the trip with the family, I was so glad to be around friends and family during such a difficult time.  Here are some of the highlights from the trip.

Lynx at the airport, waiting for some Mac n cheese.

Luckily for the kids, we had purchased them both tablets and headphones for remote learning. Now we get to use them on plane rides too!

We stayed with the Shakopee Rolfsruds for a few days, and you can see that everyone was pretty silly!

Nova loves her Kaia!

Nova also loves her Grancy!

We celebrated Lynx's birthday a little early! Kaia made a Spiderman cake that turned out amazing! And everyone enjoyed ice cream while Lynx got "the best present ever" - a Spiderman glider toy.

I was so glad I got the opportunity to see and talk with Gemma during this trip. It really meant the world to me.

My friends from high school and me.

The kids! This is just most of them!

Getting the kids ready for a photoshoot usually involves some bribery. :)

Our two NASA Kids! Lynx is on the right, and my friend, Ty's, son Ethan is on the left. They're three months apart.

We ended the trip with a few days at Chris and Bri's house, where the kids got to swim in their gorgeous new pool

On our way back home again, Lynx fell fast asleep. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality and kindness!
