Saturday, March 23
We will fly into Vegas at 10 am. Hopefully, there will be enough time to pick up our wedding license and get into our fancy wedding outfits before our wedding at 3 pm. At 7 pm, we have dinner reservations, but nothing else is scheduled. Instead, we plan to keep our wedding attire on the whole night in hopes of getting a lot of attention from random strangers.
Sunday, March 24
At 3 pm, we fly from Vegas to New Zealand. Because of the time change, we won't actually arrive in New Zealand until 7:00 am on Tuesday, March 26.
Tuesday, March 26
Because we will want to just sleep all day due to jet lag, I decided to schedule something to keep us awake. So, we are going punting along the river in Christchurch. That evening, we plan to have dinner at Bealey's Ale House. LYNN LIKES BEER.
Wednesday, March 27
We will drive five hours to Queenstown. So what are we doing on the first day in the capital city of extreme sports? We are going to The Amisfield Winery. Oh, also, we are going to Man Street to take a picture of Lynn. Because he's a man.
Thursday, March 28
The real (secret) reason that we are going to New Zealand for our honeymoon? Lord of the Rings! On this day, we are taking a Lord of the Rings tour! The description of the tour: "Lord of the Ring location include White Mountains , Minas Tirith, Pillars of the Kings, Gladden Fields, Ford of Bruinen, Warg attack and Exodus of Edorus." Awesome.
Friday, March 29
Saturday, March 30
We transition to Te Anu and kayak on Milford Sound.
Sunday, March 31
We get out of our kayaks and onto a cruise boat for a tour of Doubtful Sound. It is just a day long cruise...we hope it doesn't turn into a four day misadventure like on "Triumph"!
Monday, April 1
This is going to be a long day. We have an 11 hour drive from the south part of the South Island to the north part of it. We hope for good weather so that the drive will provide beautiful views. We also hope that the ubiquitous sheep herds stay off the roads....
Tuesday, April 2
We will take a 6 am ferry from the South Island to the North Island and then drive 6 hours to our next destination, Hamilton.
Wednesday, April 3
Continuing our driving adventure, we will take a 1.5 hour drive to our final destination, Auckland. We will stay in Auckland to hike, visit museums, and perhaps kayak until we fly back to DC.
Friday, April 5
Because of the time difference, we are flying out of Auckland, New Zealand at 7 pm on Friday and will arrive in Washington DC at 11 pm on Friday!
Saturday, April 6
Our first day back in Washington DC! We plan to sleep most of the day, and then get together with Katie Iverson and Jordan Landrum for dinner.
Phew!! Lots to plan, lots to do. The best part of all of it? Marrying Lenny!
Looks like fun--especially the punting. Love, Dad
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! Take lots of pictures. I can't wait to see the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteI do hope the sheep cooperate, but if they don't, all you have to do is pretend to be big like a bear and edge them out.
ReplyDeletep.s. that's some amazing planning (as usual might I add)
