December 2014

December was influenza season for the Rolfsrud-Wilsons.  Lynn was sick, went to San Francisco, got sick again.  I was sick for about two weeks, too, so my blogging took a backseat to nose blowing and coughing.

Luckily, we're both back in the game and ready to update.  While Lynn was gone, I attempted to chronicle my own bump development.  Now everyone gets the opportunity to see my bathroom - very exciting.

This stylish outfit was given to me by my mother.  It also makes a great throw rug.
This picture was taken on December 8, when I was 28 weeks pregnant with our little one.

This (actually) stylish shirt was a gift from my buddy Jodi. I love it!  Thanks Jodibear.  I took this on December 21, when I was 30 weeks.

And, after I FaceTimed into the annual Christmas party, I sent my friends this picture so they could get an updated bump shot.  I took this on December 22, also 30 weeks pregnant.

CHRISTMAS EVE!

We had our friends, Ze and Jingwen, over for Christmas Eve dinner.  I "made" dinner, which really consisted of delicious and wholesome foods from the Whole Foods deli and salad bar.  We had salmon, potatoes and green beans from me, and a delicious Chinese dish from Ze's mom.  Yum!
I was really glad that I bought everything pre-made, though, because I was exhausted that day.  Laying around all afternoon was just the ticket for helping me to enjoy our evening with friends.

After dinner, we challenged them to a game of Monopoly.  Surprisingly, I won! I never win at Monopology, so Lynn assumed I cheated.  Maybe I did....maybe I didn't.  Nobody will ever know.

CHRISTMAS DAY

Lynn got me grumpy cat for Christmas.  It resembles him so much, that I think it was purchased to remind me of him when he travels.

Lynn's dad, Lynn Jr, and step-mom, Anita, got me these two beautiful figurines.  They work perfectly surrounding to the first sonogram photo we received of our little button.  I love them

Lynn's dad got him these great gifts, including the "Daddy Diaper Changing Toolbox" complete with a tongs, biohazard signs and eye goggles.  Hilarious!

My parents, not to be outdone, bought us this camel.  Wait, that's not right.  They gave us a check which we really appreciate!  Maybe we'll use it on a downpayment for a camel.

Actually, after gift-opening, Lynn and I went to Mt Vernon who was hosting a camel and sheep for the winter.  As you'll see, the camel ignores me and is obsessed with Lynn.  Typical.

Another wonderfully awkward picture with the camel.

While we waited to take a tour of the mansion, I asked Lynn to take a picture of me in front of this historic wall.  George Washington had the wood painted over with sand to make it look like stone.  This was very expensive and stylish during his time.
And, today, wearing only one glove at a time is apparently very stylish for 30-something women.

I wanted to get a couples shot on Christmas day, and Lynn acquiesced....but not for long (see below for evidence.)

He's impossible.

Happy Holidays all!

  1. This is the third time I've looked at your post and the camel pictures crack me up every time!

Make sure to read up on having a baby girl and preparing for her. There sure are a lot of fun surprises coming your way!

You're looking great (Lynn obviously), and so are you, Briggs, and baby Salsa. ;)

  2. From the camel posts on, I laughed extremely hard at this post. I've confused my husband, stating only, "I think Briggs is SOO funny!" He wants context. Bah!
