Week 19 - July 5-11

Week 19 was a huge one for Nova!  In addition to going to daycare all week, I also went back to work full-time.  And, she made some huge jumps developmentally....to be explained in the Nova Stats at the bottom of this post.

Nova LOVES her exersaucer.  She jumps and jumps, giggling and squealing in delight.  We can put her in there for up to 20 consecutive minutes, and she's totally happy.

Lynn sent these photos to me at work, and they made my day significantly better.

My colleagues made me this cute sign to welcome me back.

Auntie Breckie gave Nova these cute pajamas!  Check out those duck feet - adorbs.

The US Women's Soccer Team won the World Cup 2015!  Go women!  Go soccer!

Here, the hunter is spotting her prey.

Silently, she approaches.....
...And then, the monkey gym prey succumbs to its fate, and Nova is left laughing like a crazy lady!  DESTRUCTION!

After such an expedition, some little girls need to nap on their mommies.

Lynn and I took Nova to the DC fish market with some buddies.  Shown below (left to right): Nova, Lynn, Kinnari, Anuj, Ehren and Kersten.  I'm not shown because I'm taking the photo.  :)

It was just before sunset, so the sun was quite bright.  But, that won't bother our little one in her cool shades.

Family photo!

Nova Stats:
1.  This week, Nova giggled for the first time!  She has smiled and made giggley sounds before, but (by making tooting sounds) Lynn got her to giggle like a little lady. Amazing.

2. She can now scooch herself, on her back, across the floor.  I left her to make dinner, and when I returned, she's moved about 3 feet due north from where I placed her.  Uh-oh....
3. She's started SCREAMING when we put her down.  She'll calm down within a few moments, sometimes, but other times, she just keeps screaming.  She didn't used to notice or care if she was held or not.  Fran, our daycare provider, noticed, too.  So, she's holding her ALL DAY LONG.  She's really wonderful.
4.  She can sit up!  She can sit up without support for about 30 seconds at a time.  She also likes to stand, thought she definitely needs support for that.  :)
