Week 18 - June 28-July 4 - Maternity Leave Ends

Week 18 was action-packed!

But, first, it's time for a snooze...
We don't have curtains in our apartment, so I thought this DYI project might do the trick.  It worked for a while, but when she woke up, it spooked her a bit.  So instead...

So I decided to use them as academically-enriching art.

Since we've stopped swaddling her, Nova has the opportunity to sleep in funny (and amazingly cute) positions.

Aaaaaaa-choo!

A Briggie and Novie Selfie!

Cute PJ set that Mom got for her.  Nova doesn't look amused...

I love this face, even if it is a bit blurry.

Another cute outfit!

And, now Nova is sporting her new summer shades.  My high school Humanities teacher wrote on Facebook, "The shades are needed because her future is so bright."
Also, note the new fan set up to keep her cool.  Nice wheels, eh?

On Friday night, we went to my friend Megan's house for a party. Nova was so cute for Missy....

And also for Steph....but then she melted down.  I tried to console her for over an hour, when I had to call it quits and head home.  Not my ideal party....

Jodi's little girl, Ada, graduated from using her crib, so she donated her pink crib bumpers to Nova.  Nova says, "Thanks Ada!  They will keep me safe!"

Nova is 18 weeks and her manual dexterity has improved leaps and bounds!  She can pass toys (and stickers!) from one hand to another with ease.  Also, she falls asleep by herself now, so we don't need to rock her to bed anymore (though sometimes I do because it's so sweet.)

Nova's Four Month Stats:
Height: 24.75 inches (She's grown almost 5 inches since she was born.)
Weight: 13 lb and 10 oz.  She's supposed to double her birth weight by now, which would have been 12 lb 10 oz.  Overachieving!

In other news, my first day back to work was last week, and Nova's first day of daycare is July 7.  My boss is allowing me to work four 10 hour days, one of which (Tuesday) is from home.  Hopefully I have the stamina to work such long hours!  I think I will, because having Fridays off with little Nova will be worth it.
