Week 27 was all about transitions. I moved from full-time to part-time and started my EdD. Nova started solids and trying to crawl.

Bunny...yummy! |

Giraffe...yummy! |
On Sunday, August 31, we had Deb, Uri (pictured) their 6 month old Sylvia (also pictured) and son Nathaniel, over for a picnic. Nova is also facing some friends, Katie, Jim and their 6 month old Jack...who I failed to take a photo of! It was hectic with so many little wiggly babies. But we had a great time. |
Here is Deb and Sylvia. So sweet. |
You can't see Lynn, but he's in the background, demanding that Nova do push-ups. "Come on! You can do better than that! You're over 6 months old, for goodness sakes!" (hahah...jk) |
And, "That's not a push up! You can't be on your knees when doing push-ups! Come on!" hahaha... |
Now that Nova is trying to be mobile, I set up this alphabet soup, so she doesn't get drool all over the carpet. I COULD put the letters in alphabetical order, but what's the fun in that? This way, Nova can practice doing word puzzles. |
After many attempts at eating solids (which is a misnomer - she is eating goop, and not solids!), she finally enjoyed some peas. What a sweet, pea-filled smile! |
Ooh, prunes. Gross. |
Lynn left for England on Friday, August 29, so Nova and I went to the park without him the next day. It's too lonely at home without daddy! You can see some bug bites on her cheek. While Lynn and I worry about them, she doesn't seem to notice. |
Instead, she's focused on the sunglasses. Very cool. |
I'm getting creative with the weekly stickers. |
Nova STATS:
Nova still hates to be on her back, but rolls so easily onto her front that it ain't so bad. However...she'll try to crawl/scoot on her front for a few minutes, and THEN gets mad.
She is finding new things to pull herself up on. She's definitely happiest standing and holding something, like my leg or the couch.
She started saying, "ma ma ma ma ma." So, obviously, I'm the preferred parent.
Good try with the calisthenics! Burpees next? Love, Mom and Dad
