Week 26 (6 Months!) - August 23-29

Nova is 6 months old!!

OooooooOOOOOOOOH!  Dad is so happy that Nova is so healthy and happy after a full six months, he can't help but SIIIIINNNNGG!!

Megan came to celebrate too!

Nova wanted to wear her favorite tu-tu for her birthday.

"ooh.  This vibrating owl thing is weird!"

"Luckily I'm wearing my tu-tu so nothing can keep me down, even that weird owl."

Nova finally fits into the athletic socks that Sue Rudd bought her, so she decided to train for her first triathlon, expected June 2035.

She's so happy, and so adorable!  I can't help myself.   

Remember the basket in which Nova bathes?  It doubles as a babysitter!  I put a cozy blanket in it, followed by a beautiful Nova, and giddiness ensues!  

UPDATE: Nova can now stand up by grabbing the sides of the basket.  So, this is no longer an adequate babysitter.

After swinging with Jack last week, Nova wanted to go to the park again.  She watched these older kids for awhile.   

So, so cute, sitting at the park with Mommy. 

Nope, neither baby is Nova!  Here, Laura is holding up Vivian, one of her twins (on the left) and Katie is holding her little Jack (on the right).  Both are six months old, hanging out by the fountain in downtown Silver Spring. 

Nova and I enjoyed this beautiful vista this morning!  You can see our shadow at the bottom.  

Nova (and Mommy) STATS:

Nova can stand up from a sitting position.

She does a lot of talking - looooooong vowels with punctuated "ba" and "ma" sounds very, very intermittently. 

This week, we decided to start Nova on solids every day.  Today?  Sweet potatoes.  Tomorrow....sushi. (haha)

She's gotten more interested in trying to crawl.  She'll pick up her bottom, making a V.  Then she'll drop and straighten her arms, grunt, and then repeat.

On the Mommy front, this was my last week full-time at JHU.  Next week, I start working part-time, and taking classes in my Doctor of Education program also part-time.
