Week 52 - Feb. 22-28 - Nova becomes a Toddler

Happy Birthday, Nova!  This week Nova turns a year old.  We can hardly believe it!

In honor of her big birthday, I let her use the spoon herself.  She was able to scoop yogurt out of the container and into her mouth herself!  But there were a few detours taken...mostly into her hair.

Even though vaccinations are on the docket for her 12 Month Check Up, little Nova is happy as a clam.  Probably because she gets to snuggle with Daddy!  Such a treat.

The weekend she was born, it snowed.  But, this year, there are flowers in our (new) yard - a great harbinger of a beautiful spring.

Happy Family, Happy Birthday!

We had about 20 people over for Nova's birthday.  Since it was a mid-nap affair (11-1 pm) we served bagels, fruit, donuts, mimosas and cake.

I am featured here looking as foolish as ever.  I had lit a few her of candles, only to blow them out when I tried to blow the match out.  A true genius. 

My friend Jaspreet, brought her little Sonal and Suresh to the party.  Sonal helped me blow out Nova's "Happy Birthday" candles.

52 weeks!

Nova STATS:

Nova is 29.5 inches tall.  This is about 62%.

Nova is 20 lb and 3 oz.  This is about 57%.

Nova's brains are 17.75 inches.  This is 30000%!  :) So smart.

Some updates on her favorite activities:

As pictured above, she's starting to try to feed herself with a spoon.  I can only tolerate it sometimes since it is such a mess.  But she's very dedicated to it, so we will keep practicing.

She loves to bring our shoes to us to wear.  She's fascinated with the shoe "comes to life" after our foot is inside of it.  She also tries to put them on her own feet, which is totally adorable.

Her final favorite activity: tantrums.  Lynn and I can't decipher them.  What does she want?  No idea.  I think she just needs to scream sometimes.
