Lynx's 10th Month - March 2018

Lynx turned 10 months on April 10! His Golden Month Birthday!

Lynx's 10 month is surprisingly chilly in Maryland.

Lynx continues to enjoy lots of new foods!

More SNOW!

Snow angels!

Snow babies!

This is a panoramic view of a new indoor recreation center called Hyperkidz.  It was INTENSE.

Lynx enjoyed HyperKidz!

Selfie!

We took a trip with Lynn to a resort by Dulles Airport.  It was not fun for the adults, but the kiddos loved swimming!

It was 40 degrees adn I took Lynx for a walk.  He fell asleep after I covered his face with my scarf.  He slept for over an hour...which meant that I had to walk for that long!  My legs ached.

I watched this Facebook Live session put on by Tinkergarten about the importance of being fully immersed in messy activities, so the kids' senses are fully engaged for long periods of time.  So, my gorgeous girl got to enjoy some messy painting fun!! She did it for over an hour.  She was joyous.

Paint the sink? Why not!

After a month of snow, April 11 was finally nice and sunny!  So, continuing with the messy immersion philosophy, we made mud pie stews with grass, sticks, and of course, mud.

This is Nova's favorite book this week.  She is loving the superhero narrative.

Nova Stats:
Nova sang, "There was a farmer who had a farm and Mango was his name-o."
Nova is constantly playing Frozen.  She's Elsa, I'm Anna, Lynx is Olaf and Dad is usually Kristoff.  Here is a video of Nova talking about it, along with other things.  When Nova is upset or in trouble, she says,"I don't want to be Elsa anymore!"

Once, she got frustrated while doing a Frozen puzzle (from Breck) with me.  To commiserate and help her voice her feelings, I said, "I am so frustrated!"  She turned to me concerned, and said, "You can't be frustrated."  I asked, "Why?" and she responded, "Because I need you to help me."

On April 12, we had Nova's first parent/teacher conference at St. Andrew's.  It was wonderful.  Our little girl is doing great!

Lynx Stats:
Lynx has learned to guide his walker, so he can take it in whatever direction he wants....and I don't need to intervene anymore.
He's started shaking his head when we do.  It's like he's dancing.
He took a long hiatus from saying any consonants.  But, he's back to making a variety of sounds: Ma, Pah, da, teh, bay, ba, la/tha, die, da-die, hey-day.  No joke, he usually says "mama" around me, and "dada" around Lynn. He looked at a ball and said, "bah" but I can't conclude that he's definitely connecting sounds to things.
