I'm trying to create and stick to a variety of traditions. I've written them in my phone and refer back to them each year. One tradition is to decorate the house for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. The kids had a lot of fun doing it this year!

Nova's favorite Christmas memory is spending time with Kaia in Arizona! She's holding the photo that Jenn took of them together. |
We also remember the fall when Gemma came to stay with us, and I bought this ballet dancer ornament at the Kennedy Center. |
Nova has taken some liberties with my phone lately! Selfies of her... |
...And "live action'" shots of her mom. |
And, next up...Elf on the Shelf! I avoided doing this for the longest time. But, I finally gave in. And, this year, I even spent (cough) $100 (cough) on a set of "scenes" to put out each night so I wouldn't have to think of anything. hah!

Meal times have become much better. I've started pretending to be "bad mother" who does NOT want them to eat healthy food. I want all the healthy food for ME. So, now, when I take on the Bad Mother persona, they eat all sorts of things (like TEN edamame beans) without screaming and crying. |

Santa comes on a fire truck every year. This year, we invited some friends (Tom + Erica and their kids, and Corine + Kevin and theirs). Kevin played amazing games the whole time - here's a sweet, unprompted hug that happened after the games, but before Santa came.

Nova is losing so many teeth!! What a cutie. |
One of my incredible friends, Georgette, got us this cookie-decorating kit. The kids had so much fun. |
Lynx did a great job at his Christmas concert! |
Lynn's friend Drew came over for some pizza with his wife Krista and son Fin. We all had a great time! |
We went to a small holiday gathering where they got some snowman balloons and a hayride around the parking lot. |
