Christmas 2021!

 Well, it's mid-February, so about the right time to blog about Christmas! ;) 

As you can imagine, the kids LOVE Christmas and were so appreciative of all of the gifts they received! 

This is what Santa brought! 

Here's a close up of a "fairy garden" that Santa thought may be a hit. It was! Nova loved it. And, those are some knee-high socks Nova wanted, along with a "Illustory" which is a book-making kit that Nova also loves!

And, here are some of the gifts we got from our amazing friends + family! 

They rarely use their tablets, usually preferring TV for screentime, but I guess on Christmas Day, they wanted their tablets! I thought it was cute that they took them to the top of the stairs together.

October 2021

I told Lynx he could read after the bedtime routine was over. He picked out some books we got from the library. This was 7:45 pm. I went up at 8:30, and he had turned off his light, turned in his nightlight and fan, and had fallen asleep. #parentingiseasy

In the van, out of nowhere, Lynx said: nova, I love you. 

Nova said: me too.

Lynx learned how to start the bike on his own! I don’t need to push him off anymore

Lynx: why do you want Daddy to come home? Is it because he’s your true love?

Nova: I wish we lived next to Gary because he’s my boyfriend 

Lynx: you can’t have a boyfriend yet. You’re not an adult. Nova: you’re never too young to fall in love.

Lynx: what do you want to be when you’re a grown up? A doctor? Police officer? 

Nova: no, I want to be a regular woman 

Lynx: Oh! And I’ll be your friend. 

Me: you know how you were really upset about having to take the bus? 

Nova: ya 

Me: ok, what can I do to better help you when you get upset like that? What would help you? 

Nova: if you told me to take three deep breaths with my fingers here (she holds her fingers on her clavicles) 

Me: oh ok. That’s great, Nova. 

Nova thought her friend Ella hadn’t invited her to her birthday party. Nova said: “Ella has broken my heart!”
