A trip to the past: Mt. Vernon

These past two weekends, the Rolfsrud-Wilsons traveled back in time to the American Revolution.  We visited Mount Vernon, George Washington's home, and Colonial Williamsburg, the largest museum in the country.

A ferry ride across the Potomac.

Whenever Lynn takes a picture of us together, he makes me crack up.  So, here I am, trying to smile like a lady, and instead I look like a hooligan.  

More hooliganism.

I thought this path was beautiful.  It led from the apple roasting area back to the horse-drawn carriage ride field.

We enjoyed a 3 minute carriage ride.

Here is the Washington tomb.  It was reconstructed about 30 years after his death in 1799.
