Summer 2021

We've had a great summer! Here are a few updates!

The kids went to Arco Iris Sonos, a Spanish Immersion camp for two weeks. During this camp, a boy told the other kids about pennywise, the clown who likes to eat children. While telling this story, the boy was crying and crying. So, needless to say, my kids are now very afraid of a clown who eats children and demanded that they sleep together for about a week. Sigh.

Lynx went for his 4 year old appointment!
He's 42 pounds and....some sort of height. Didn't write it down.

The kids begged to go camping, so we did! Lynx spent a LOT of time using this mallet to make sure that all of the pins were in place correctly.

The kids slept pretty well...but not until about 10 pm. I did NOT sleep well, because kids are loud sleepers!

To catch up on his lack of sleep, we found Lynx like this during the middle of the afternoon  after  camping. Hilarious.

I've been teaching the kids + friends tennis this summer! Here's a post-lesson pic!

We went for a walk around the neighborhood when both wanted me to take pictures of them posing. No problem.

Snuggling on the hammock.

Reading before bed!

Lynx wanted to try karate for a few months, so we did! Nova decided to join at the last minute. After class, I asked if they had fun. They said they did. I asked if they wanted to sign up for more, they said yes. So I signed them up. $200. The next morning, Lynx walked up to me and said, "Do we HAVE to go to karate today?" I called and cancelled karate. Luckily, I got my money back.

Without me noticing, Nova brought Bear to the library. And, subsequently, left Bear at the library. We left JUST as they were closing, and she noticed he was missing JUST before bedtime. Unfortunately, the library doesn't open until NOON. So we had to wait all day to see if Bear was still viable. Luckily, he was! The librarian set him aside and told us that she and Bear had enjoyed some tea together.

Loving the Boxcar Children!

We got together with some friends from Nova's first grade class and had a great time.

  1. the Boxcar children! I read and re-read that book as a child. Such a durable book. I remember parts of it. Nice posts Briggs. Thanks.
